My name is Teguh Li. I am a Graphic Designer by expertise, but I have wide range of interest in other subjects, mainly when it comes to things involving people and human beings as social creatures. This includes social trends, human psychology, religions of the world and belief systems.
As a brief background, I went to Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore to get my Diploma Course in Visual Communication, and - fortunately - graduated with enough portfolio to get me going in the industry. There were a lot of times though, where I thought a lot about writing as a full-time profession. I always have this itchy feeling whenever ideas or thoughts came to my mind. The kind of feeling which says, “I have to tell someone about this!”. Sometimes, just because I think it is a brilliant piece of information, other times, I just want to get it out of my chest. But alas, I didn’t explore that much into publishing my writings until recently. Which was probably a good thing, as I look back, my writings weren’t all that easy to read and full of negative energy, very sporadic in its execution and wasn’t very consistent. I was writing mostly out of spite. This is not my first attempt to publicly share my writings though, I thought of starting few blogs back then but I didn’t manage to get them running.
Currently, I am trying to find new like-minded people here in Medium.com. I was suggested by a friend to write here, as she said to me there might be good audience for the kind of writings I am interested in.
I am someone who are concerned about social issues and its implications to our lives in general. Whether it’s cultural background, issues about diversity in culture, different aspects of human interactions, religion and belief systems from around the world. I am also interested in science and technology, although I don’t write about them often as I don’t think I am qualified enough to write about scientific subjects. Nevertheless, I am interested in the complexity of the brain and mind. I have also keen interest in psychology, and coming out as someone who were suffering from depression and OCD, I have growing sympathy to those who suffered from similar mental disorder.
